Fantasy Fix: Dustin Johnson or Adam Scott at Kapalua?

By Alex Myers

With the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, a new golf season is officially underway. A new fantasy golf season, that is. Yahoo!'s popular game is back (If you play fantasy golf, you probably use this format) and so are we to help you set your lineups every week. On the PGA Tour's schedule this week is the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, which will feature 30 players who won in 2013. As you'll see with our picks, we're leaning on players at Kapalua's Plantation Course who have already experienced success in the new wraparound season.

Starters -- (A-List): Adam Scott. He's never won at Kapalua, but how can you not pick him after his recent torrid stretch in Australia? That finish to 2013 helped earn him the GWAA Player of the Year Award, and there's no reason to think 2014 can't be even better.

(B-List): Dustin Johnson. Despite Scott's recent dominance, the defending champ here is our pick to win again this week, even though he pulled out of Thursday's pro-am with a stiff neck. After winning the WGC-HSBC in November, many are predicting a monster season for Johnson. Let's face it, no one on tour is more comfortable being in a tropical paradise.

(B-List): Webb Simpson. Another beneficiary of the new wraparound season, Simpson already has a win under his belt in 2013-14 having won the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in October.

(C-List): Harris English. The 24-year-old is making his debut in this event and has already guaranteed a spot in next year's tournament with his win at Mayakoba in November.

Bench -- Matt Kuchar, Billy Horschel, Martin Laird, and Jimmy Walker.

Knockout/One-and-done pick: Martin Laird. The Scot doesn't mind playing this windswept track, as evidenced by a T-4 and a solo second in his two previous trips to Kapalua. Use him this week and save the bigger names for bigger events in the future.
